ROLE OF PARENTS IN KIDS' EDUCATION

ROLE OF PARENTS IN KIDS' EDUCATION

We often mistake education to be within the confinement of bricks and mortar classrooms, with a teacher imparting Knowledge of trigonometry and Shakespeare with content written on a green board with white chalk, at the different age levels.

What we overlook is that education starts at home, from the moment children open their eyes and start observing the world around them. For instance, a mother interacting with her newborn baby, using lots of colours and various sounds helps in developing its cognitive abilities, and reactions. Another example of educating children is openly talking to them, and making them feel heard and understood.

Thus parents can play a supportive role to educate their kids by performing following activities and help them to lead a successful life.

  • Plan a Daily Schedule
    – A daily schedule is an excellent way to manage life’s moving parts. It can give you structure, reduce stress, and increase productivity. When you create your daily schedule template, you’ll have to add flexibility to make changes and track updates. Plus, by visualising your work in multiple ways.

  • Play and Learn
    – Search out the activities which can help your child to learn the things with interest. It will help to boost your ward’s brain. It will beneficial in many ways such as develop the vocabulary and language, improves logical thinking, creativity. The child will become more confident and sociable.
  • Coordinate with teachers -Some parents shoulder the blame and responsibility for their child’s problems, not talking with the school because they feel as if it’s their issue alone to deal with. Some parents get the feeling that the school is passing judgement on their parenting when they receive a phone call asking to sit down and talk about their child. Good parents always coordinate with teacher to upgrade their child’s holistic development.

  • Set Goals and rewards – Every parent should set a goal for their kid and reward as per their hard - work. Parent should always appreciate their wards hard –work and never demotivate.
  • Provide adequate emotional support - Parent should provide proper emotional support to their ward as the child faces a lot of difficulties at their different age levels. Parent should listen to their child’s view and then react. Instant reactions can destroy the relationship of parent and child.
